Bloom Wellbeing’s Beginners level Sports Massage Qualification

 

Dates:

12 weeks (Classroom days every fortnight) Starting September 20th 2025
 

This is the entry-level qualification for becoming a professional sports massage therapist. It provides the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed to treat clients with minor injuries or soft tissue tension.

 

What You’ll Learn:

  • Basic anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology

  • Principles of soft tissue dysfunction and repair

  • Massage techniques: effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, frictions, etc.

  • Client consultation and assessment

  • How to provide pre-event, post-event, and maintenance massage

  • Professional practice, ethics, and health & safety

  •  

Career Opportunities:
You’ll be qualified to work with the general public and physically active individuals, offering massage for injury prevention, relaxation, and recovery. It can be a standalone career or a stepping stone to Level 4.

 

Entry Requirements:
No prior massage qualifications needed, though some providers may ask for basic fitness and an understanding of written and spoken english.

 

Accreditation:
Accredited by Active IQ, and regulated by Ofqual and recognised by CIMSPA.
